Reduction of Size and Weight
Compared to the widely used Cavity Filter technology, SURF Filter’s compact size and reduced weight would allow equipment manufactures to reduce the size and weight of their RF Systems equipment. Currently, RF Filter block contributes 30% to 40% of the weight (and a substantial portion of the size) of RF Systems equipment. By enabling a 50% weight reduction of RF Filter block, SURF Filters can reduce the weight of a RF Systems equipment by 15% to 20% while maintaining the RF performance of a bulkier and heavier Cavity Filter.
Cost Savings for Carriers & Equipment Vendors
Reduction of Weight and Size would yield direct cost savings in terms of equipment and installation costs (CAPEX), but also lead to long-term reduction in site-acquisition and maintenance costs (OPEX).
Wider Range of Deployment Options
SURF Filters have immediate application in RRH deployments where tower top and strand-mount installations require strict weight and size limits. For Carriers, SURF Filters can also enable various configurations of Filter-Combiners for use in Multiple Service Platforms.
